Education
Teaching English has always been a valuable and rewarding experience for me. After completing my undergraduate degree in English language and literature at Newcastle University (UK), I went on to train as a teacher in a special educational school. Once I had gained Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), I accepted a job in a mainstream setting where I worked for 3 years. I am a fully qualified English teacher in secondary English and hold a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education).
Experience
I am an experienced private tutor who has tutored students of all ages and abilities. I tailor each tutoring session to meet the individual needs of my students and ensure that every session counts towards meeting their long term goals. I have been working as a fully qualified teacher for five years. During my first three years, I worked in the UK at a large 'Outstanding' academy in the north of England. I began working at International Engelska Skolan in Sweden for the past 18 months where I have been teaching grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Hobbies
I am an approachable teacher with high expectations who always endeavours to make her students feel comfortable and worthy of success. I have an excellent understanding of the Swedish curriculum as well as the skills that students must acquire in order to command the English language. I love reading, snowboarding and mediation. This summer I travelled around the island of Sri Lanka and did a retreat in the jungle. It was a wonderful experience. I look forward to meeting and teaching new students!
